For the one or two of you that read this blog, we thought we’d give you the occasional peak inside our “head”.  Learn a bit about the lifethreads business philosophy:  what makes us tick, how we view the business and why we do what we do.  Perhaps there will a nugget you can grab for your own business.  Or perhaps you’ll just understand us better. This is the first in that installment.


We are not the biggest flush mount album company out there. We do not offer every cover option, and we don’t try to be all things to all people.  Our philosophy is that of: less being more.  Although we cannot take credit for the philosophy, the concept is one that we do our best to live out at lifethreads. One that we try to excel at in fact.

how it plays out for us

  • The core of our business is to offer the best customer service. Period. It has been a foundation of the business since well before flush mounts, when we started as a darkroom lab in the 80s.  We see no reason to change.  It’s why we still have customers from 30 years ago.
  • Quality!  We offer a carefully selected group of products on both the print and album sides of the business. Every product we sell is hand made with a care for craftsmanship & artisanal quality that is getting lost in today’s mass-produced world.  By not trying to be all things to all people, we keep ALL our processes in house and run a small but knowledgeable staff. This allows us to be on top of all aspects of every item we produce.
  • Competitive pricing.  Because we don’t try to offer every cover option out there, or a hundred sizes, or multiple printing methods, we are able to control our inventory and our costs and pass along those savings in the form of competitive prices.

Keeping “light” allows us to work with you and it helps you make decisions.

  • We don’t bog you down with endless options that really serve to create confusion and drive up prices.
  • Don’t see something you’re looking for (a size, leather colour, etc.)?  Send us a contact form request to get a conversation started. It doesn’t always mean we’ll get on it right away, but we’re willing to listen & adapt.

Keeping our selection limited doesn’t mean we aren’t always looking to improve or add the next “thing” in.  In the pipes right now (thanks to our awesome customer feedback) are a new cover upgrade option and a fantastic whole new packaging line up.
