The following is from a letter emailed to customers Nov 22:

It is with some degree of heaviness that I am writing you today.

We wanted to start by saying thank you to all of you who have reached out in concern following the recent flooding and aftermath in southwestern BC.  Your concerns are greatly appreciated. As a business, we are not located in an area where flooding  has occurred and in that regard we are okay.  Our thoughts and prayers are very much with those who do live and/or work in the affected areas.

However, the resultant cut-off of all ground-based shipping and transportation routes in and out of southwestern BC is the reason that we are writing you today.

Due to the current situation, we are temporarily unable to receive our printing supplies or ship out orders by ground.    This means we are not able to run business as usual.

What does this mean?

We are in regular communication with our suppliers and shippers to try to figure this out.  The answer to this question is changing daily.

Production Changes:

At the moment, you should expect some delays in the production of all album orders and regular silver halide prints as we wait for supplies to arrive and shipping networks to either be repaired or re-routed.

We will be delaying production on all studio sample orders until regular supply chains can reestablished.  This will allow us to re-route as many resources as possible into your resale albums for your Christmas related orders. If you have projects that are NOT time sensitive we would ask you to consider making a note of this in the comments section of your order as this will help us to prioritize our supplies toward Christmas orders.

Christmas Deadlines

We are committed to working to the best of our ability to produce all orders in as timely a manner as possible.  However, due to the supply chain challenges and shipping conditions that are beyond our control, sadly, we are unable to guarantee any orders to be delivered for Christmas.  Should this change we will update you by email. We realize that this is not an ideal situation, but we also know that we have a very understanding customer base who will see that this is a unique and unforeseeable situation that we must work patiently through.

Shipping Changes:

Shipping from us to Alberta and further east should not be affected as much.  These shipments leave Vancouver by air.  Shipments within BC will most likely be delayed.   Any orders that were en route during the flooding and that are currently unable to be delivered are being stored in safe and secure Canada Post locations.  Canada Post recommends checking your tracking number regularly to follow your orders.

We thank you for your cooperation and patience as we work through this latest challenge.  We will work hard to do whatever we can to minimize changes to our regular service levels in whatever ways we can.

Best regards,

Russ
